Biodiversity Through the Lens

What I love most about photographing wildlife is that the subject is always unrelentingly honest, uninhibited, and endlessly dynamic. If you closely watch any animal as a quiet observer behind a lens for an extended period of time, a whole world rarely witnessed by the casual passerby opens up. You begin to notice the way the perched hummingbird fastidiously preens its feathers with its long bill, or the way it licks its beak after feasting on a bounty of nectar. You'll notice the way the basking lizard begins to curl its tail and lifts its arms as it warms, right before it sprints off at a seemingly impossible speed. In any given sitting you may take hundreds of photos, and if you are so lucky you might be able to capture a presumably ordinary moment, and create something extraordinary.
