Is Breakthru House a "Faith-based" organization?
Yes, Breakthru House was founded by the Methodist Church. Treatment of the women is based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, a spiritual and faith-based program of recovery.

What does your logo mean?
The logo was developed by the founders and symbolizes the "breakthrough", experienced by clients with previously dangerous and hopeless lifestyles, into a safe place of treatment and recovery. This breakthrough is supported by the energy of faith and spirituality, represented by the cross. Women who are trapped in destructive addictions can come to Breakthru House and experience a breakthrough into faith and recovery.

How many members are on your Board of Directors? Can I become a board member?
There are approximately 17 board members. We are continually looking for member to help us build the strength and diversity of our board. If, you are interested in becoming a board member, please visit our volunteer opportunities page and complete a volunteer profile. Your profile will then be forwarded to our Board of Directors Development Committee. You will then be contacted and asked to fill out a Board Member Application Form. We would love to have your expertise in building support for Breakthru House!!

What is an Open House?
An Open House is an hour and a half long visit to Breakthru House where you are served a light lunch, given a tour of the campus, and an explanation of our program through staff and alumnae speakers. For a current Open House schedule, check out our open house page. If you cannot attend any of the scheduled Open Houses, you may arrange a private tour at your convenience.

How many houses are on your campus?
Five: 3 are client residences, 1 is the office, and 1 is the Resident Manager House.

How can I donate to Breakthru House?
You can mail a check to 1866 Eastfield Street , Decatur , GA 30032 for any amount you choose. Or you can use our online donation system to give.
